Gaelic Ring: Islay Tour -
5 Nights for
two persons. DAY 2; Your ferry awaits from Kennacraig - you sail to Islay from here, lasting approx 2 hours. With so much to see and do on the island including; historic sights, wonderful sightseeing views and of course, what the island is famous for; whisky! There are many here to choose from.
DAY 3; An island journey, as you ldecide where to go, what to see and when; try and make some time for Jura. DAY 4; The ferry to Oban today with Colonsay en route to Oban. A magnificant sailing and excellent views all around, you will also pass by the second largest whirlpool in Europe! Overnight Oban, in a guest house overlooking the harbour. DAY 5; Options; maybe drive east to see Glencoe and Fort William. OR another ferry to Mull? Whatever you do will be full of hidden surprises. Overnight Oban. DAY 6; Glasgow, at your leisure, drive south via Kilmartin Glen, so full of historic monuments there is not time to see all, so we will suggest a few of the best. Drop off the car at Glasgow, where your tour ends.

Gaelic Ring: Islay Introduction
Situated on the Kintyre Peninsula and on West Loch
Tarbert, Kennacraig is the departure point
for the Ring that comprises the islands of Islay and
Colonsay and the ferry crossing from Colonsay to the
West Highland town of Oban, often referred to as the
‘Gateway to the Isles’. Port Ellen and Port Askaig
are the alternative landing points on Islay and it’s
from Port Askaig on the east side of the island that
the ferry sails to Scalascaig on Colonsay and on to
Oban.
This Gaelic from Kennacraig to Islay, viewing the
Kintyre Peninsula and the islands of Arran, Gigha
and Jura and travelling to Port Ellen also affords
splendid views to Northern Ireland’s Antrim Coast.
The sea crossing to Colonsay is spectacular and
Kiloran Bay to the north of the island is stunning
in every way and well worth a visit. The ferry
crossing to Oban also takes in dramatic scenery and
as the ferry ties up, you can take time to enjoy
this very lively and popular destination. This tour includes; Self drive car rental, all ferry tickets for two passengers with medium sized car.
